COVID-19 Resources

Dear Howard Families,

I just wanted to take a second and personally say how much I miss everyone. Each one of you guys is in my thoughts and prayers during this time. With that I have a really useful resource that can help parents to talk to your kids about the virus. It’s a wonderful resource coming from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. I’d also encourge everyone to take a step away from the news as much as possible. I’d like to call it stay informed but also be present with the one’s that you love. I’ll be attaching some really great ideas on some things you can do with your kids over the weekend that dosent involve screen time.

To our parents that are in the medical field and work in hospitals we just want to say a big THANK YOU! Stay safe and healthy during this time! Next week I’ll be posting some videos of me reading to your kids, or just simply saying hello because I know we miss you guys! Stay strong, we will get through this together and we will come back stronger than ever!

Have a great weekend!

Take Care,

Ms. Marisa

Stopping the Spread of Germs

Good Morning!

It’s such a gorgeous day today, the sun is shining, and the birds are chirping it’s going to be a great day! 😊 In today’s lesson were going to be talking about the importance of washing out hands in order to stop germs from spreading.

Washing our hands is so essential to keeping our family and ourselves healthy and safe, but how do we wash our hands correctly to make sure all the icky germs are gone? There is a wonderful video that shows children what “germs” look like and how they react to dirty hands versus clean washed hands with soap and water. Attached is the link here:

In the video they use oregano, but you can use glitter as well anything that would be a visual representation of “germs” is perfect. It’s super simple and such a fun visual demonstration!

I will also be attaching some fun interactive worksheets that you can print off and do with your children! I hope everyone has a wonderful day today! 🙂

Take Care,

Ms. Marisa
