Firesafety Fieldtrip

Today we visited the Dearborn Fire Safety House. Our third graders learned all about keeping safe in the case of a fire. Students watched an educational video about what to do in the case of a fire, and then were able to complete a fire simulation. The fire house filled with fake smoke and students practiced getting low to the ground, checking the door for heat, and then safely exiting the building.

The nice firefighters stressed the importance about establishing a family meeting spot in the case of a fire. This way all members of the family will know exactly where to go if this were to ever occur. They also asked that students go home and ask their families to check all the fire detectors in their homes. Overall, I think that we learned a lot of important information about fire safety and we had fun doing it!

September Homework Club

As many of you know in our class we have a “Homework Club”. Students from our class who bring back ALL their homework complete and everything signed (planner, behavior log, reading log, etc.) receive a special reward for doing ALL of their homework for a whole month!

This month’s club members were Misk and Daifallah. They earned an ice cream sundae! Nice job, friends. I hope in the month of October many more friends are able to earn a special treat.
