Reminder that you have a quiz over your subject terminology on Friday.  You must be able apply your understanding by matching the term to an example provided.  It will be a matching quiz.  Practice quiz tomorrow.

Please review your grades and make sure you see me for any retakes and makeups.  Time is running out!

I will be looking at notebooks on Friday so be prepared with all the activities in there and your SSR reflections in the back section of  your notebooks.

 

December 10, 2018 Update

We had a day full of presentations with some amazing skits.  We will finish up with the remaining skits tomorrow.

H.W.  Complete the subject specific terms worksheet by defining each word and providing an example.  You may draw a figure in there if appropriate.

December 6, 2018 Updates

Students turned in the Metacognitive Table and the questions for Scenes 1-6.  For those who weren’t here or didn’t turn them in, make sure to do so by tomorrow.

We have started working on developing skits for “A Christmas Carol” to be presented on Monday in class.  I am looking forward to seeing you perform.

Today’s trip to the Theater was wonderful as the cast did a wonderful job of really illustrating this timeless piece.  Students, I am so proud of how you represented the school.  I hope you enjoyed the experience.

November 29, 2018 Update

Scene 1 & 2 review sheet was checked in for points.  Make sure you are providing solid answers that reflect thought and depth.  You must answer in complete sentences with correct spelling.

We finished the reading of Scene 3.  You should have your Metacognitive Stem table completed for Scenes 1,2,3.  Our Sequence Wheels are looking good!

Do not complete the Scene 3 questions for homework.

H.W.  Study for you vocabulary quiz tomorrow. It will be matching.  

Bring along your library books so that you may exchange them tomorrow while visiting the library.

We completed the reading of the Prologue, Scene 1, and Scene 2 of “A Christmas Carol”.  As we are reading you should be completing your metacognitive table using the sentence stems. You should also be contributing to our sequence wheel on the poster.

We have started with the background information on “The Christmas Carol”  before we begin reading.  Context as well as terms have been shared.  Note that this week and next week, our Friday quizzes will be over the terms from “The Christmas Carol”.  This week is over terms 1-12 and next Friday, the quiz will be over terms 13-24.  It will be a matching quiz.
