We are still working hard and today’s assignment is to continue writing in your journals.

During Spring Break Ms. Colter and I will not be assigning any work, checking our emails or responding to emails. We all need to take a break and try to recharge as much as possible.

We hope to know how the rest of the year will look when we get back from break.

Stay Safe and keep your distance from everyone.

Media reports indicate that within the next few days Governor Whitmer will most likely announce the closure of all school buildings for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year . We do not have an official word yet. So until we have official word and the school district releases its plans WE WILL CONTINUE TO WORK ..

I can assure you that your teaches, administrators and support staff are preparing to continue teaching. Yes we brokenhearted, but these broken hearts will heal. Always remember what I have told you before “Once you are a Holly kid you are a Holly kid for life”

Ms. Colter and I miss you and will always be here to support you.

Home Work Expectations

Students who have not attempted any work will be receiving a phone call form either Me, Ms. Colter or an administrator .

It is the expectation of your administration and teachers that you participate in online learning.  The work being assigned to you is to ensure that you do not fall behind academically. Our goal remains 1200+sri, and proficiency in all subjects.  All  careers require a minimum SRI of 1200 and proficiency in math.  We are not sure when we will return, but we will continue to provide you with learning opportunities.  As a family, it is important for us to continue to grow and thrive academically.  Thank-you

Updates

1. Schools will now be closed THROUGH April 13.  We were planning to return that day, but now are scheduled to return Tuesday, April 14.  Obviously, that could change as the situation evolves.

2. Free meal distributions will continue during the shelter-in-place period.  Providing food is an “essential service.” In fact, we now are planning to extend the meal distribution through our spring break, so food will be handed out Monday to Friday through at least April 13.

3. Online learning will continue.  While current state law says the learning cannot count as “seat time,” Gov. Whitmer has clarified that “does not mean that school work done during the mandatory school closure won’t ‘count’ toward grades, credits, or graduation.”  (Teachers and students are still officially scheduled for spring break from April 6-10, so there might be a week off during your weeks off.
