Happy Monday! I hope you all were able to get out and enjoy the sunshine this weekend 🙂

Don’t forget to send me a picture of your child’s math, writing and social studies work to Dojo. I want to be able to give them credit for all the work they’ve (and you) have been doing.

The above You Tube video shows you how to post your child’s work to dojo. If you’re still having some issues posting, it’s fine to continue sending pictures.

3:30 today is the 2nd grade Special Area class. They’re looking forward to seeing your child!

Please remember to go to the 2nd grade Weekly Plan either from my Clever page or from the Henry Ford home page. Everything is there for you to help your child continue their learning from home.

Enjoy the week!

Monday April 27, 2020

Happy Monday Everyone 🙂

A couple of changes beginning this week:

The Weekly Plan for reading from now on will be Raz Kids only. They need to read a book from their online library and take the quiz at the end. Any of the other reading sites can still be used for read to self or listen to reading.

I’ve learned that Dojo has a place where you can post/upload your child’s work. It’s called Portfolio and will be easier to keep track of the weekly work that’s done. For now, there are 2 folders: 1 for Math and 1 for the Writing. Give it a try this week and let me know if it works out for you 🙂

I will not be holding any Google Meets this week per the Superintendent’s directive. I’ll let you know when they’ll start up and what platform we’ll be using.

Enjoy the sunshine!

Monday April 20, 2020

Happy Monday Everyone 🙂

I hope you are all safe and healthy. My family and I are, though I can’t see my mom yet, we do talk on the phone daily so that’s nice.

Some changes for this week:

  1. I set up Raz Kids for each student to use. Your child will find in on my Clever page. They just log in, find their name and I set up their birthday is their password typed as always for other sites, example 04202020 (today’s date typed out)
  2. Per the State’s mandate some guidelines for learning are set. Dr. Maleyko will send all families the information.
  3. A new set of plans for this week are up. You’ll have to send me a picture Friday of the writing done for the week or show it to me during our google meet.
  4. I’ll be having 2 google meets each week now for students. Thursday and Friday at 1:30-2:00. We’ll be visiting, sharing our learning each time.
  5. Next week, I’ll have a google meet for parents and will have a translator with me. I’ll let you know the day and time when it’s finalized.

Enjoy the day!

Monday April 13, 2020

Good morning families 🙂 I hope you were able to relax from your school routine during spring break and I hope your families are safe and healthy.

You’ll find new lessons for virtual learning in the same 2nd grade lesson plan place as before. We hope you enjoy the new lessons 🙂 I’ll continue to read answers in Readworks and am able to see Zearn as well as other spots in Clever your child has used. It is important for their future learning, that they do this work daily.

As always, please share any concerns or problems with me either via Dearborn Schools email or Dojo.

I’ll have another Meet Up with the students this Thursday at 11:30-12:00. Please follow the pictures I posted last time and, fingers crossed, it works, lol.

Stay safe, wash your hands and stay healthy.
