Happy March! Happy Reading Month 🙂
Due to the 2 snow days last week, our reading/spelling will continue into this week. The spelling test will now be tomorrow and we’ll begin a new unit on Wednesday with a new set of words.
Our writing unit mirrors the reading: narrative. Each student will write a fiction story of their choice for the next couple of weeks.
Our math continues with using our addition and subtraction strategies to work with numbers greater than 100 but less than 1,000. Continue to have your student practice their basic math facts for quicker fluency with the larger numbers.
Social studies continues with our learning about how the government works in communities. This week will be learning more about local government and the services they provide as well as the difference between private action (done by an individual) vs government action.
Science will continue learning about the Earth’s surface changes.
Below you will find the link for Dearborn’s Teacher nominations. If your child would like to nominate a teacher they’ve had, it can be done here. If this link doesn’t work, it can be found off the Dearborn schools website. A great way to honor a former or current teacher from any special area as well.
Enjoy your week 🙂
