Good morning families, During this unusual time we’ll all do the best we can to keep our children’s learning on track.
First, I’ll be doing a DOJO greeting each morning about 9:00 to say hello to my students and see how they are doing. Feel free to contact me with questions and I’ll do the best to answer and help you. Feel free to have them email me or contact me through DOJO.
Please keep checking the Henry Ford website for updates. Our Second grade team has been working to provide links to work you can have your child do to the best of their ability. If you also have workbooks or other appropriate work for them that’s fine also.
As for how to do the work…I think it’s best to have a schedule daily. Choose a subject area (ELA, Math, Science, etc) each day and choose an assignment to work on for a chunk of time 30 min. or so. Then take a 5-10 min break and go back to choose another academic area to work on.
I think it may be best for your child to do some work in each academic area daily like we do at school. Including recess 🙂
So I don’t overwhelm you, please use any of the resources you see on the Second grade folder off the HF website or any others you find that meets your child’s academic needs.
It may be best to keep a daily log in a spiral notebook of the work they do then return that to me when school reopens. If it’s online work like for Zearn Math, write the date, time and work done such as 2 digit addition. Same with other subject areas.
The District would like use to see if your family would need to borrow a device from Dearborn Public Schools? Please reply and let me know either by email or DOJO. They’d like a reply by this afternoon.
Hang in there! And remember, I’m here to help you the best I can. Please reach out if needed.
