Welcome Back 🙂 I hope everyone had an enjoyable week off. Hopefully, you rested and had some fun throughout the week.

We’re back for a full week and so hard to believe it’s the last week of February.

We’re beginning a new reading/writing unit called Tales to Live By. The focus question is What can different cultures teach us? The reading strategy is summarizing and synthesizing a story. The spelling words are: too, soon, fruit, new, grew, blue, true, truth, July, shoe. Our writing for the next 3 weeks will focus on narrative fiction and students will write a story of their choice.

We’ll also be starting a new math unit that will focus on strategies for adding and subtracting within 1,000. It will build on the previous strategies learned for adding and subtracting.

This week for social studies we continue learning about the 3 branches of government and the people who run our city.

Science continues our learning about how Earth’s quick changes of the surface: earthquakes, landslides, volcanoes.
