I hope everyone had an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend.

Spelling words this week focus on word endings called suffixes: friendly, likely, careful, coldness, walkable. There are no Dolch words this week but there will be “mystery” words based on the suffixes we’re learning this week.

We’re still working with narrative (story) writing. This week the students will be writing for our District prompt.

We’ll continue reading informational text to answer questions based on the passage.

Social studies will study an issue in a fictional Michigan community and we’ll be discussing and writing about how the community solved the problem.

Math begins a new module about shapes/telling time. We are down the last few weeks of school, so I’ll be skipping around a bit to introduce these concepts to the students.

This week is also our District STEAM project which we’ll be doing Thursday afternoon. If you have any shoe boxes/paper tubes, yarn, etc. please send it in. We’ll be getting creative 🙂

Enjoy your week!
