I hope your child told you all about our wonderful day at Cranbrook 🙂 They seemed to enjoy the museum and seeing things we’ve learned about as well as, new science and history items.
Today we will have our last NWEA test–math. Students seemed to take the reading test seriously last Friday so I expect the same with this one.
No school this Friday or next Monday due to the Memorial Day holiday.
Unfortunately, I will be out this week, Tuesday-Thursday. My mother-in-law died rather unexpectedly last week so I’ll be out for the funeral this week.

Our reading strategy this week focuses on plant parts and their functions.
We’re writing our own narrative stories and I’m encouraging the students to write an imaginative version of a story.
Math will focus on measuring using inches, coin combinations and creating a bar graph.
Social Studies begins a new unit that emphasizes how communities solve problems.
All library books are due Thursday. If you have any at home, please send them in.
Next week, we’ll be doing a district encouraged STEAM activity in class. Students will need boxes (cereal, kleenex, these smaller type sized boxes), paper towel tubes, yarn/string. If you have any of this at home, can you please send it in. We’ll be doing this school wide so I’m looking forward to this 🙂
