Yay, the groundhog did not see his shadow so spring will be here sooner 😉  After last week, it can’t come soon enough!

Late Start this Wednesday. School begins at 9:35.

Due to the short week last week, our spelling list will stay the same as last week’s.

I’m having to move much of last week to this week so our reading strategy continues to be expanding our vocabulary for informational text using captions, pictures, the table of contents and glossaries.

We are finishing up our narrative writing prompt about a time we had fun, then will go back to informational writing about land forms on Earth.

Math will still focus on the “unbundling” strategy for subtraction.

In social studies we’re learning about personal compared to civic responsibilities of citizens.

Science will be learning about the land forms on Earth and how they are created.

S.T.E.A.M. Night is this Thursday, 5:00-7:00. This is always a fun evening filled with engineering and other fun scientific activities. I hope to see many of you there!
