This week we have a half-day on Friday. Remember all permission slips for STEAM club are due by Wednesday.

This week:

Math- We are taking our mid-module assessment on place value. We will be moving into patterns in multiplication and division with a focus on multiples of 10.

Writing- We started a narrative. Our focus with this narrative is using strong leads in our writing and using sequencing to enhance the plot.

Social Studies- We are working on the regions of the US. We are focusing on the Southwest region this week.

Science- We are learning about energy and forces. We are doing a science activity where the students will have to work on balancing uneven forces using a simple machine.

Reading- Book groups are up and running. Students will have homework assigned daily. They may finish it during our reading times but they still have 20 minutes of reading each night. Our focus as a class is on main idea with supporting details and picking good fit books.
