It seems spring has finally sprung and the nicer weather is here. Next week starts our MSTEP testing. The two weeks following MSTEP will be our NWEA testing. We are still in need of volunteers to send in water bottles, juice boxes, mints, and/or healthy snacks to have before and during testing. If you would like to send something in, please let me know what you are planning on donating.

This week:

Spelling-endings /y/ to /ier/- happier, earlier, greedier, emptier, funnier, amplifier, friendlier, cloudier, bouncier, fancier

content words- natural resources, capital resources, human resources, consumer, producer

Math-3rd and 4th-We are continuing our unit on fractions. We are working on adding fractions with common denominators and will move into finding a common denominator when needed.

Writing-We are working on our poetry unit. We are focusing on types of poetry, understanding poetry through figurative language and writing poetry with correct rhyme patterns and stanzas.

Reading-We are continuing with our strategy groups and will be incorporating our study of poetry into reading.

Science-3rd-Mrs. Parana

4th-We are working on the systems of the body and noticing how a specific system helps different organisms in their given environment.

Social Studies-3rd-Mrs. Parana

4th-We are still looking at the ways citizens can be involved in government and their responsibilities.
