Week of 4-16-2018

Hi everyone! I hope everyone stayed safe, dry, warm, and with electricity this weekend. Hopefully, some normal Spring weather shows up soon! This week our schedule is off a bit because we will have all of the 4th graders in here while the 5th grades M-Step test. The PTA is looking for volunteers to sign up for the Bandit Dash Color Run. If you are able and willing to grab a time slot, please go to ClassDojo and find their post with the Sign Up Genious. Our testing will begin next week so make sure your student is still reading for 35 minutes every night and getting in Khan Academy practice nightly. We have about a month left until all students need to be at 100%.

This week:

Math-Both grades are working on a new fraction unit. The 3’s are identifying fractions and their models and 4’s are starting to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions.

Science-3rd-Parana

4th-We are continuingĀ our study of the body systems that help organisms survive.

Social Studies-3rd Parana

4th-We are looking at the responsibilities of each citizen and the things we need to do to maintain our freedoms.

Writing-We are finishing out narrative writing and will start working on a How-To piece that utilizes sequencing words

Reading-We are still working on figurative language. We are also going to start looking at the parts of a poem.
