  2. How many molecules of each reactant are there in cellular respiration?
  3. Where does each molecule get inside the organism?
  4. Where does this reaction happen inside the cell?
  5. What is the name of the energy produced in this reaction?
  6. What are the other products in this reaction?
  7. How many molecules of each product are there in cellular respiration?

  1. Glucose (C6H12O6) and oxygen (O2).
  2. 1 molecule of glucose, and 6 molecules of oxygen.
  3. Plants have stored glucose from photosynthesis. Other organisms eat plants or other animals to get glucose from their cells. Oxygen enters animals through their respiratory system (lungs, mouth, nose, etc.)
  4. The reaction happens inside of the mitochondria.
  5. ATP Energy.
  6. Carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O).
  7. 6 molecules of each
  8. In humans for example, we exhale the CO2 and lose water in many ways… primarily by going to the bathroom, but also by sweating, saliva, evaporation from your skin, etc.
