Media Skills Classes During School Closing 3/13-4/13

Dear Henry Ford Folks:

If your child has classroom teachers Mualem/Ninkovich, Herrod or Hassan, they can access their weekly Media Skills class by going to Google Classroom. To do this, click on this link to see a tutorial created by Henry Ford Teacher Irwa Sharif.

I will also continue to post the lessons on this blog, if you find Google Classroom confusing.

In Google Classroom, students will see, in descending order, the lessons they would normally have done in Media class during the next three weeks. The classes are arranged by the date that they come to Media.

As part of their weekly assessments, students often go to the Henry Ford Media Center catalog and find books. You can help your child by asking them to explain the database, or OPAC, to you. When a search is entered into the home page of the OPAC, the individual records for books in the hits tell students who the author is, whether the book is fiction or nonfiction, and where to find the physical book in the media center. The OPAC can be confusing and practicing how to read the information in the search results is helpful.

If you or anyone you know is having difficulty with internet access during the Covid-19 outbreak, Comcast is offering support.
