Homework:

Weekly Objectives November 27th- December 1st

I hope everyone enjoyed the Thanksgiving break and long weekend.  This week will be a full week with lots of learning taking place.  Here is our schedule for the week.

Reading:

RL.4.4 – Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a text, including those that allude to significant characters found in mythology (e.g., Herculean). RL 4.7 – Make connections between the text of a story or drama and a visual or oral presentation of the text, identifying where each version reflects specific descriptions and directions in the text.
RL 4.9 — Compare and contrast the treatment of similar themes and topics (e.g., opposition of good and evil) and patterns of events (e.g., the quest) in stories, myths, and traditional literature from different cultures.

Writing:  

W.4.5 With guidance and support from peers and adults, develop and strengthen writing as needed by planning, revising, and editing. (Editing for conventions should demonstrate command of language standards 1-3 up to and including grade 4)
W.4.6 With some guidance and support from adults, use technology, including the Internet, to produce and publish writing as well as to interact and collaborate with others; demonstrate sufficient command of keyboarding skills to type a minimum of one page in a single sitting.
Math:

4.OA.1 Interpret a multiplication equation as a comparison, e.g., interpret 35 = 5 × 7 as a statement that 35 is 5 times as many as 7 and 7 times as many as 5. Represent verbal statements of multiplicative comparisons as multiplication equations.

Social Studies:  4 – H3.0.2: Use primary and secondary sources to explain how migration and immigration affected and continue to affect the growth of Michigan.
4 – G1.0.1: Identify questions geographers ask in examining the United States (e.g., Where it is? What is it like there? How is it connected to other places?).
4 – G4.0.1: Use a case study or story about migration within or to the United States to identify push and pull factors (why they left, why they came) that influenced the migration.

Science:

  • PS4: Waves and their applications in technologies for information transfer—How are waves used to transfer energy and information?
  •  PS4. A: Wave properties
    What are the characteristic properties and behaviors of waves?
