Weekly Objectives- 10/31/16- 11/4/16
Here are our objectives for this week:
Reading:
RI.4.5 Describe the overall structure (e.g., chronology, comparison, cause/effect, problem/solution) of events, ideas, concepts, or information in a text or part of a text.
This weeks focus identifying cause and effect, problem and solution.
I ask that parents take the time to read with your child each night. After the child has read for 30 minutes ask them questions about what they have read.

4.NBT.B.4 Fluently add and subtract multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm. 4.NBT.A.3 Use place value understanding to round multi-digit whole numbers to any place.
4.MD.4 Make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Solve problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions by using information presented in line plots. For example, from a line plot find and interpret the difference in length between the longest and shortest specimens in an insect collection.

P.EN.E.4 Energy and Temperature- Increasing the temperature of any substance requires the addition of energy.
P.EN.04.41 Demonstrate how temperature can be increased in a substance by adding energy.
P.EN.04.42 Describe heat as the energy produced when substances burn, certain kinds of materials rub against each other, and when electricity flows through wire.
P.EN.04.43 Describe how heat is produced through electricity, rubbing, and burning.
P.EN.E.5 Electrical Circuits- Electrical circuits transfer electrical energy and produce magnetic fields.
P.EN.04.51 Demonstrate how electrical energy is transferred and changed through the use of a simple circuit.
P.PM.E.5 Conductive and Reflective Properties-Objects vary to the extent they absorb and reflect light energy and conduct heat and electricity.
Care to the Core Rally November 3rd
Music, Student Performances, Free Prizes, and Fun!
Dealing with feelings in positive ways and helping others are two of the key messages that students from elementary through high school will share using music, stories and songs at the annual city-wide event to promote positive behavior and prevent bullying. The upbeat event titled “Care to the Core Rally” will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 3.
Bring family. Bring friends! All are encouraged to attend this fun-filled, FREE event in the beautiful Michael A. Guido Theater at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave., Dearborn, MI 48126.
