I hope everyone enjoyed their extra day off! We have another busy week ahead beginning with our math NWEA test tomorrow morning. Please make sure your child gets enough sleep and eats a healthy breakfast. It is also very important that your child comes to school on time everyday. I begin instruction each morning at 8:05, students should be arriving promptly at 8:00. Students do outside for lunch recess everyday unless the weather is extremely cold. Please make sure to dress your child accordingly including gloves, hats, winter coats, and boots. Below are some topics we will be learning about this week.

Spelling:

This week students will be focusing on the consonant blends: /st/ and /gl/

Words for the week: stop, sting, still, glad, globe

sight words: come, from

Math:

Students will be learning how to solve for the missing addend in a number sentence. This math concept can be a bit challenging so please make sure to practice these math problems with your child at home.

Science:
This week students will be learning about different types of severe weather. We will focus on blizzards and hurricanes this week.
