I hope everyone was able to enjoy the weather this weekend! This Thursday students will be celebrating “friendship” by writing kind notes to one another and sharing some treats. We will have a small celebration Thursday afternoon. If your child would like they may bring in Valentine Day cards for their friends and a small treat to share. We have 25 students in our class. The cards do not have to be made out specifically to each friend. There will be no school this Friday the 12th and Monday the 15th. Below are some topics we will be learning about this week.
Spelling: Students will be reading and writing words with the pattern of /ou/ Here are the weekly spelling words:
cloud, round, out, loud
sight words: her, is
Social Studies: Students will be learning all about maps this week. Your child will need to complete a short homework assignment this week and write their home address. We will use our addresses to complete our “Me on the Map” book.
Math: Students will be learning all about fact families. Fact families are a collection of addition and subtraction facts made from the same numbers. Here is a game your child can play to practice fact families:
