Chromebooks

Hi Everyone,
We will be loaning Chromebooks to Howe students who have a need.  I posted information on our school blog about this.  Pick-up will be Friday, March 20 from 9-11 under the canopy off of Ann Arbor Trail. I would like them to complete this survey to make sure we have enough Chromebooks prepared. Please share this information on your blogs as well.
Thank you,Tammy

Do You Need A Chromebook?

Teachers have provided daily on-line enrichment activities for students to complete while we are out of school. It has been brought to my attention, that we have some students who do not have access to a computer, tablet, or phone device to participate in these activities. With support from Dearborn Schools, we are extending an opportunity for our students with this need to borrow a Chromebook from Howe School until we return from the shutdown.

Chromebooks will be made available for drive-through pick-up on Friday, March 20 from 9:00-11:00 under the Ann Arbor Trail canopy at Howe School.

At this time we can only provide 1 Chromebook per family to be shared by all Howe students in the family.

You will need to have access to wireless internet or a hotspot to use the Chromebook in your home

A parent MUST be present and sign a copy of this form to receive a Chromebook. The form will be provided at pick-up. Please read for more information.

To reserve a Chromebook:

If you would like to borrow a Chromebook, please complete this form. This will help us to facilitate the process and ensure availability. Remember, you will need to have access to wireless internet or a hot spot to use the Chromebook in your household.

If you have questions regarding Chromebook Lending contact Ms. Fournier at fournit@dearbornschools.org.

Good Morning Ms. Truxall’s Class

How are all of you? Hope all is well. I was so excited this morning to see how so many of my students are working hard on Moby Max the contest and other activities too. Moby Max has Science, Writing, Social Studies and so much more. Please try them out.

Moby Max can be hard to login at home. Please let me know if you are having trouble. I can help you more if you send me a picture of the screen that you are stuck on. Thanks.

I will share information for you with if you are in need of a chromebook. Mrs. Fournier will be loaning them out tomorrow, Friday, March 20 from 9-11.

Keep working on your assignments. Please send me your Journals if you have written them on google docs. Students, I will respond to your Journal so check your email!

Top of the Morning to Ya!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Keep working on Moby Max, Zearn and Raz, reading for 20 min, Journal and Spelling. Please let me know if you need help with login or passwords, etc. I was happy to see this morning many of you earned more contest points and spent time on zearn. Way to go!!! Have a good day. Miss you all so much!

ABCya issues

In talking with the other teachers, we have learned that ABCya- the free portion, only works on computers and not ipads or phones. So, no worries if your child cannot go onto this website. I won’t be monitoring time spent since it is not accessible for all. Thanks.

Music for Ms. Harden- please follow her blog for music games.

Hello all!
I will be posting activities for our students via my blog blogs:https://iblog.dearbornschools.org/hardens/ If you could also let them know to subscribe, that would be great!   For those who have class dojo, please send me an invite if you haven’t already done so.  Thanks so much!
For those of you with little ones at home, I will be posting some fun and engaging music resources that you can use too.  Here is hoping that we can all be together again soon!

Good Morning! Work for this Week

Hello everyone. Hope all is well with you. I was able to download the” 2nd grade 3 weeks of work at Home” at school but was not able to from my home computer or phone. I will put the assignments on the blog for the week in a different way so all can access. If you need passwords for the various sites, let me know through email.

Please make sure your child spends some time each day (M-F)on the following sites: Moby Max Reading Contest, Zearn (we are at Module 4 Lesson 16 in class), Raz kids and ABCYA. I will track minutes spent on these sites from my computer.

I would like each child to write an entry for the WOW Journal each day and turn this in on Fridays. Please use the Home Journal Calendar page for ideas or use your own ideas. To do this, students can use google docs and then share it with me. truxalc@dearbornschools.org If you are having computer issues, have your child write journals on paper and turn it in to me when we return to class.

Spelling- Please practice spelling of the words each week. I posted the words for this week last Friday.

Email me if you have any questions! Thanks :>

Important

Students may come to school this morning at 8:35 only to pick up personal belongings, math book, journal, etc and then can leave. No classes held today. Please know that I do not have work prepared for them but Moby Max and Zearn remain available. More info to come…
