Please join us next Tuesday, June 13th at 12:30 for our class picnic.  We will eat outside if it is not raining so bring blankets, fold-up chairs and food.  Please sign in at the office and we’ll meet you outside at the playground.  Our picnic will end at 1:00.  See you then!

Please have your child in costume and in the classroom by 5:15.  Play begins promptly at 5:30.  Our class is first on the stage!!!!

No Fact Sheet homework this week.  Kids still have journal though.  Also, this is the last week for spelling.   Students need to study for the test on Friday.  Thank you.

This Friday, June 9 will be the last test for the school year.  I am sending home the practice test today!

Dear Parents,

We are fortunate that our school provides our students with a variety of educational tools through paid subscriptions. Please keep in mind that all students experience learning losses when they do not engage in educational activities during the summer. On average, students lose approximately over 2 months of grade-level equivalency in mathematical computation skills over the summer months. Some students can lose about 2 months of reading achievement.

In an effort to assist parents in reducing the “summer loss of learning” We are providing you a list of  sites that are designed to be a review of material from the past school year and have been pulled from our current reading and math programs, so they should be familiar to you and your child. Below is a list of available paid website subscriptions. Each website has its own unique value.

MobyMax- This site provides students with online resources in math, language and reading. All the lessons are aligned with our state’s standard expectation by grade level.  

Myon- This site provides anytime, anywhere access to a library of more than 8,000 digital books with multimedia supports, real-time reporting and assessments.

Students have access to MobyMax and Myon through our district website.

Ms.Schneider, Ms. Polster & Ms. Golec’s students have not accessed this site.

BrainPop- BrainPOP Jr. provides curriculum-based content geared specifically for K-3 students. The site offers a growing library of movies and interactive features across six subjects: science, health, writing, reading, social studies, and math.

Razzkids: Students have access to their leveled text through an interactive learning portal designed to keep them motivated and engaged. Every eBook is available in online and mobile formats, and allows students to listen to, read at their own pace, and record themselves reading. Students then take a corresponding eQuiz complete with an extended answer response to test comprehension and determine future instruction needs. Once a child has read ten or more of the leveled eBooks and passed each of the corresponding eQuizzes, they advance on to the next reading level where they have access to lengthier and more difficult text.

This is a website that plays interactive books for emergent readers (students in kindergarten) or ELL readers! High-interest text combine with text-highlighting, read-aloud features and stellar book design to make reading a successful experience for every reader!
