We will soon begin a lesson on hot and cold.  Please send in a clean pair of socks for your child to use.  Send the socks by Friday, the 6th.  Thanks!

Students will begin a reading program called Book It.  Your son or daughter participated in this last year.  Please have your child read 20 minutes each day, color in the day on the calendar and return at the end of the month.  Your child will then get a coupon to Pizza Hut for a free, individual pizza!  If your child can complete all the months through March, he/she will receive a special prize at the end!!!  A note and October calendar will be sent home today.

This Friday, September 29, students will have a math test.  I am sending home a practice test today for your child to complete and study from.  These practices tests can stay at home.  Thank you and happy studying!

Yesterday, students had a substitute teacher.  I had Jury Duty.  Not all the Fact Sheets and Spelling Lists were passed out yesterday.  I will be sure they get home today.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

Tuesdays is Library Check-Out.  If your child brought a book home, please return it on Tuesday.  The Library is not open any other day.  Thank you.

Yesterday in the middle of our Math Test, the NWEA server went down and we were unable to complete the test.  Once  NWEA fixes the problem, we will finish the test.  Thank you.

Howe School’s Open House!

Please join us from 6:00-7:30pm on Tuesday, September 19 for Howe’s Open House.  Come and see your child’s classroom, walk around the school, join the PTA meeting and buy some goodies at the Hurricane Harvey Bake Sale!!  See you all then!!!

We will be having the NWEA test this Monday and Wednesday.  Please be sure your child gets a good night’s rest tonight and Tuesday night.  Please also be sure he/she eats a healthy breakfast before the test.  Thank you!!!

Tonight I sent home your child’s notebook that says Home Journal and a note explaining the homework.  Your child is expected to write every Tuesday and Thursday in his/her journal and return it the next day to school.  Children should write at least 3 sentences with a picture.  I also sent a September and October calendar for journal ideas.  You can come up with your own ideas too!  Please have your child write the date on each entry.  Thanks!
