Dr. Seuss Day this Friday
This Friday, March 1 is Dr Seuss day. Students may bring in their favorite Dr. Seuss Book. Sometime in the day, we will Drop Everything And Read our Dr. Seuss books.
March is Reading Month
To help us celebrate “March is Reading Month,” we would like to invite parents (and grandparents or other special relatives!) to be our mystery guest readers for the month of March. Bring along your favorite book (or two!) Reading to the class should be about 15 minutes long. If you would like to participate, please email me or return the form I am sending today by Friday, March 1. Sshhhh! Please remember, the guest readers are always a mystery to the entire class until they arrive.
Our best times are Thursdays from 3:00-3:15 and Fridays from 3:00-3:15.
I’ll be sending home a sign-up sheet for you to return or just email me!
Box Tops and Book Swap

BOX TOPS
This week, PTA is collecting box tops! Send in your box tops in a ziploc bag labeled with your teacher’s name or grade. The grade with the most submissions by Thursday wins a pizza lunch party!
**Teachers – please put box tops in the pink wooden crate in the hallway outside the office. Check to make sure each bag is labeled with your name/grade. Bags don’t need individual student names on them.
BOOK SWAP
All students bring in used books this week for our second annual book swap! Make sure they are grade appropriate books (no adult books), and we will set up the swap in Room 104. The swap will take place on Friday March 1st.
**Staff/teachers – Books can be deposited on/under the table outside the office, and PTA will bring them to Room 104 and set up after school Thursday. There will be a signup sheet in the office for a time when your class can come to the swap on Friday.

Lego Club Begins Today
It is our turn for Lego Club. The following students are signed up : layana, Mohammed B, Amelia, Mohamad AbdulGhani, Kareem, Inaya, Natalie, and Merlin. I will dismiss them at 3:35 to room 104. Thanks!

Valentine’s Day, Half Day and Spelling Test
This Thursday is Valentine’s Day and a half day of school. We will also have the spelling test. Students may bring candy and small Valentine cards to pass.
Math Test
Next week Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on weather and what not, our class will have a math test. I am sending a practice test today. Please take some time and explore the test with your child. No need to return it. Thanks.
