Reading Madness

READING MADNESS

Please join us in “tipping off”  March is Reading Month by participating in this month’s reading activities centered around our theme, Reading Madness. Throughout the month of March, students will vote on their favorite read aloud and the books will move through the brackets by voting for the elite eight, final four, and championship between the final two books. We have had so much fun planning and thank you for your participation. Each child who participates will receive a prize at the end of the month. Don’t forget to check out the attached activities calendar for the daily reading activity that will be done in school.

READING LOG REQUIREMENTS

Each night students should read 20+ minutes, this can be independent reading or reading with an adult. Reading logs should be returned to school each Monday throughout the month so that classrooms can tally the minutes. Students who participate by reading at least 20 minutes each night per week will get to add a basketball with their name and weekly minutes read to our school-wide Reading Madness display in the cafeteria. At the end of the month, the top male and female reader (most reading minutes) in each classroom will be entered into a drawing to win a new bike!

Happy March and let the tournament begin this Friday, March 1st!
