Tardies

Some children are arriving late for class in the mornings.  Please have your child here on time because it is a classroom distraction when they arrive late.  They miss important information announced in the mornings. Thank you.

How to enhance your child’s book experience…

After your child has read books from his/her book bag or any other books, ask your child to tell you about the book.  Be sure he/she includes characters, setting, problem/solution and events in the story.  If your child is reading an informational book, ask him/her to tell you 5 interesting facts read.  If your child cannot remember, allow your child to look back into the book and remind your child to pay attention to what was read.  Enjoy!

Picture Retake

Picture retakes will take place this Wednesday, December 2.  Students who would like their pictures retaken should return the original picture packet to their teacher.  Any students who were absent on the first picture day will also be photographed.  Order forms are available in the Howe School office.

Snow Gear

Now that winter weather has arrived, please send your child with snow boots, a change of shoes so our carpet remains dry, snow pants, hat, gloves and a warm coat.  On snowy days, we will be going out, if most of the class has appropriate outdoor clothing.  Students may leave their outdoor clothing  here at school for the week and then take it home on Fridays.  That way, students do not have to lug heavy bags everyday.  Thanks so much and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Conferences Coming Soon- Sign-Up

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be coming on Thursday, November 12, Wednesday, November 18 and Thursday, November 19.  Most parents signed up at the Open House last month, but if you were unable to attend, please stop by the classroom this week.  I will post the Sign-Up sheet outside the room.  You can pick or change your day and time.  If you are unable to come to the classroom, email me your choice of day and time and I’ll do my best to give you the closest day and time available.  At the conference, we will discuss your child’s report card, NWEA results, classroom performance, behavior and any questions about your child’s progress.  Looking forward to seeing you and discussing your awesome child!
