Our Green School Team has purchased recycling bins for each classroom to use.  Students can put unwanted plastic water bottles into the bin when students are finished using them.  Our class is in need of volunteer parents that  are willing to add the plastic to their recycling at home.  I will send it with your child when our bin is full.  At this time, we have not found a company who will pick up our plastic recycling yet.  Please email me letting me know that you will take our recycling.  Thanks a bunch!

Our class will have a small celebration on Thursday, February 11 at the end of the day.  Students may pass out Valentine’s Cards and candy at this time.  I will send home a class list of student names so your child can write their classmates names on the cards.    Send in cards and candy on Thursday.  Thanks

We will continue to work with water through the end of this quarter and into the next.  I will be sending home some homework tonight that will be due next Wednesday, February 3.  The homework entails measuring the amount of water used while brushing your teeth.  You’ll need time, a toothbrush, some measuring cups, a small bucket or container that’ll fit in your sink and a pencil. On the back of the homework there is a chart to fill out and some questions to answer.  Have fun!

Tomorrow, January 20 is our field trip to Cranbrook Institute of Science.  Because tomorrow is a late start,  we will be leaving at approximately 10:00.  We will be eating lunch there so be sure to pack your child a disposable lunch.  Remember, if your child uses a booster seat, send it in with your child and label it with his/her name. I am sorry to inform you all but I misread the website as to how much chaperones will cost.  I read $5 per person but in fact it’s $10.  Please send in an extra $5 if you are a chaperone.  Again, I am sorry for the mistake.  Thanks!

If you haven’t already done so, please come to the office and fill out the driver’s paperwork and give a copy of your driver’s license to Ms. Bernadette if you are planning on chaperoning the field trip.  Please know that even if you are not driving but attending the trip, you must  have a copy of your driver’s license in the office today.  If not, I am sorry but you will not be able to attend the trip.  Thanks for your understanding.

There has been a slight change to the field trip times.  It is a late start day.  We will leaving at 9:45ish and arriving at Cranbrook at 10:45 ish.  Our water program was changed to 1:00.  Thanks!
