Homework tonight is fact sheets.

Tonight I will be sending home journals and fact sheet.  It is double tonight because of the short week.  Normally homework will be Mon and Wed fact sheet and Tues and Thurs journal.  Next week will be normal.  Thanks!

Next Tuesday, September 20 from 6-7:30 we will be having an Open House.  Please come and see your child’s classroom, find out the happenings this year, visit the bake sale, join the PTA, etc.  Hope to see you there!

Tonight the Fact Sheet homework will begin.  On a full week, students will receive 2 of the same fact sheets to practice with at home.  One is sent on Monday and the other sent on Wednesday.  These are due back the next day.  A quiz on the same sheet will be given on Friday.  If your child passes that sheet, he/she will be moved on to the next fact sheet.  Since this week was short and this homework new to some, I have decided to send the first one today and the next I’ll send tomorrow.  There will be a quiz on Friday along with the Spelling test.

I have done a quick assessment last week with the new students in my room.  As the weeks go by, I’ll adjust the levels of fact sheets for your child if needed.  Please let me know if your child finds the fact sheet too easy or is a struggle.  I’ll be able to judge also on Fridays for the quiz.  Please let me know if you need counters or a number grid or multiplication chart.  I allow students to use tools if needed.  Thanks and happy homeworking!

Homework begins tonight.  Students will be bringing home a journal and a topics page with an instruction note attached.  Spend no more than half an hour on homework!  Enjoy.

Due to the short week next week, I sent home Spelling words a little early.  I usually send them home on a Monday.  Test will be Friday, September 16.

Tomorrow is Friday which means we have Show and Tell.  Students may bring something from home to share with the class!
