All younger siblings at the end of the day, will dismiss with his/her older sibling.  The younger child will walk to the older child’s classroom and dismiss with that teacher out back.  Sorry for any confusion today.  Thank you.

Please have your child put his/her name on the folders and composition books.  Please do not put names on any other supplies.  Please know that supplies, other than the folders and composition books will be collected and used for all students.  If your child wants a special sharpener, eraser, etc, please keep the specialty items at home.  I will explain to the children on the first day of school that all the crayons, markers, pencils they have brought in will be shared by all.  You might want to mention this to your child as you are purchasing these items.  Thanks.

1st and 2nd Suggested List for 2014-2015

• A large backpack with child’s name on it

• 5 Composition books with a sewn seam for new students(Please have written on each composition book the student’s name and one of the following subjects: WOW- Work on Writing, SRA, Language Arts, History/Biology and leave one blank)

• 1 container of sanitizing wipes and 1 bottle of hand sanitizer

• 2 packages of sharpened #2 pencils

• 2 pencil erasers and 2 pencil sharpeners

• 3 glue sticks and 1 bottle of glue

• 1 package of crayons and 2 boxes of markers

• 1 package of colored pencils

• 1 pair of scissors

• 4 cardboard basic folders with pockets– Any color

• 1 study box or file holder for holding “Read to Self” books

• 2 watercolor paints

• 1 package of lined paper- wide rule

• 2 package of Kleenex (facial tissues)

• 1 roll of paper towels

Tumblebooks-  Please access tumblebooks through the Dearborn Public Library.  Google the library and then scroll down to the search window and type tumblebooks.  Children know what to do from there.  Do not go to the tumblebooks website.  It is a paid site and I don’t have a subscription.

Please keep your children reading over the summer.  20 min a day is a good number.

Workbooks for math and reading are found everywhere- Staples, Barnes and Noble, Meijer,etc.
