Instead of a Halloween Party on Monday, October 31, Mr. Borg our gym teacher and his assistant Josh will be putting on a Fall/Tailgate Party for the entire school.  We are asking children to wear their favorite sport’s team shirt or the colors, if your child doesn’t have a sports shirt.  For example, children can wear red for the Red Wings, blue for the Lions, etc.   Josh, the assistant, will be grilling some sliders for the children to snack on during the party.  They will have outside activities, dance area, arts and crafts, carnival type games, haunted maze, etc.  Mr. Borg is asking for Parent Volunteers to help set up and run the different activities.  The party is from Noon until about 3:45.  Truxall’s class will be going to the party from 1:05-1:50.  If you are interested in volunteering, let me know and then on that day you may report first to the office, sign in and then go to the gym.  Email me with any questions!

My classroom is not having a Halloween Party but if your child would like to pass candy to his/her classmates after the Tailgate Party, he/she may do so.  We have 17 students and 1 teacher.

Next week during our Science time, we will be studying insulating materials as part of  our Properties of Matter Unit.  All students need a clean pair of old socks as part of the activity.  Please send your child with these socks on Monday.  Thanks!

Please help us collect food/clothing for the homeless!  Collections will taken until October 14^th; the class with the most donations will win a PIZZA PARTY!

The 2nd graders will be having a math test this Thursday.  I will be sending home a practice test today.  Please take some time with your child tonight or tomorrow night to work on these concepts together or apart.  Check over your child’s work and please keep this practice test at home.  I do not need them returned.  Thanks!

On Monday’s I will be sending home a Book Bag with 2 books or 1 chapter book.  Please have your child read and practice the books for the week.  Return the Book Bags on Monday.  I will refill them on Mondays only.
