I have an unexpected meeting on Monday afternoon so I am moving Unit 5 test to Tuesday afternoon.

Tomorrow is our field trip to the Detroit Historical Museum and Orchestra Hall.  Please have your child wear a Howe or a red shirt tomorrow.  Chaperones please check in at the office around 8:45, check in with me and then wait in the cafeteria.  We are scheduled to leave at 9:15 but if the bus is ready before that, we will leave earlier.   Please remember to pack your child a lunch tomorrow too.  The museum does not sell food.  Thanks!

I have asked students to please bring a change of shoes for the classroom for after we have recess.  Boots at recess get wet and snowy and sometimes muddy depending on our lovely Michigan weather.  We have carpet in the room and it gets a little soggy.  I have told the students I may make it a rule but haven’t done so yet.  Please send extra shoes.  Thanks!

Next Monday, February 5 the students will be having the Unit 5 Math Test.  I sent a practice test home yesterday.  Please email me if you need the answer sheet.  Thanks!

The Spelling Test and Fact Sheet Tests will be given on Thursday instead of Friday because of the field trip.

The NWEA test for Math will be Monday morning, January 29.  Good Luck and beat those fall scores!!!

It is that time of year again and we will begin testing in Reading on Monday, January 22, 2018.  Math will be on Monday, January 29.  Please be sure that your child is well rested and has a healthy breakfast before the test.

Our music teacher Mrs. Susan Harden has planned a field trip for 2nd and 3rd grades to the Detroit Historical Museum and to Orchestra hall.  The field trip will be all day Friday, February 2 for our class and Ms. Keebler’s class.  We will be taking a bus and we will be in need of about 7 chaperones and no more.  First 7 to sign up for chaperones will be chosen.  I will send the slip home tomorrow.  Thanks!

Good Morning!  Our field trip to Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum is tomorrow.  Please, all chaperones meet here at school at 9:40.  Check in with the office and then report to my room.  I’ll have a map for you if needed and the schedule for the day.  The map shows the parking areas near the museum .  Once all have arrived, those that are taking a group and those that are taking your own child will be able to leave.  I’d like to leave by 9:45 so please be on time.

Remember that all students and chaperones need a lunch.  They will provide us with a room for lunch.  There is no place nearby to purchase a lunch so bring your own.  We will have time to explore a little before lunch and after the Slime Time activity.

Also remember to send your child with a little money for the gift shop.  Chaperones will not buy any items for other children in his/her group except if it is his/her own child.

I will be sending home a letter either today or tomorrow explaining Raz kids.  You may be familiar with this website.  The students used it last year in Ms. Schneider’s class. I adjusted the reading levels to this years levels.  Please follow the instructions on the letter and happy reading!!!
