So I will see Group 1 and Group 4 tomorrow! I’ll send an email to remind you and the link too in case the one above doesn’t work. Cross fingers that it all works correctly:>

Good Morning All 4-27

I hope everyone is well and rested. This week brings a bit of uncertainty in regards to video conferencing with your children. Last week we had some security issues and as a result, the teachers will not be using Google Hangouts to connect with the students. So as soon as I learn the new way to connect, I will send you instructions and then we can begin again.

New assignments have been posted to Google Classroom and more to come.

A reminder of work (15 min for each subject): Raz kids– I assigned books and quizzes. Moby Max– all subjects. Zearn– Module 5 Lesson 5-9 and that includes the math homework book. WOW– One each day. I posted May calendar of topics in Google Classroom. Spelling– words posted in G. classroom. Science– Mystery Science and activities in G. classroom. Social Studies- Then and Now work in G. classroom.

For those ahead in Math or beyond Module 5 in Zearn, I have posted a link just for those students to Eureka math lessons, videos and worksheets to complete. Some of the videos are lengthy so if your child is frustrated, tired, etc, then please take a break or stop. This is extra or bonus work.

Chromebooks

With the increased expectations for remote learning, we will host two additional dates for Howe students to borrow a Chromebook. Chromebook distribution is scheduled for Monday 4/27 from 10:00-1:00 and Tuesday 4/28 from 11:00-2:00. Parents will pull up curbside and their chromebook will be brought out to them. A signature will be required. Please notify your child’s teacher if you plan to pick up a Chromebook so we can have one ready for you.

Tuesday 4/21

Good morning all! I have moved all the science assignments from “Ms. Truxall’s Science Class” to the original “Ms. Truxall’s Class”. Students should be able to see Science along with spelling, wow, etc. I also added a Social Studies assignment too.

Good Monday Morning 4/20

Good morning everyone. Hope all is well. I put some of the assignments on Google Classroom this morning. I also reminded students to work on Raz, Zearn and Moby Max. I assigned a new story on Raz. Students should be on Module 4 lesson 31 in Zearn. If your child is behind, encourage them to work on catching up. The Moby Max contest includes many more activities than the last contest. Encourage your child to participate.

Students should work on Spelling (I put the words on Google Classroom), WOW journal (I put on Classroom but you can have your child continue to write on paper or google drive. Whatever works best for you is fine for me), Raz Kids, Zearn( plus the homework book) and Moby Max.

My office hours are 9-3 M-F. I am here to answer questions or help in any way.

See some of you at our Reading Lesson today!!!

The Week of April 20-24-Hangouts Lessons

This week we will begin lessons using Hangouts. I will conduct these lessons in small groups. I plan on meeting with your child twice a week in these small groups. I am going to try and stick with a consistent schedule each week however, I can be flexible if the day and time absolutely does not work for you. I will schedule these lessons in Hangouts and you will get an email inviting you just as we’ve done before. I would like each child to have a pencil and paper ready to go at the meetings. I’d also appreciate it if the students become familiar on how to mute and unmute his/her microphone while in lessons. I will talk with each student at our first meeting so he/she understand that he/she must keep the microphone on mute until it is time to ask and answer questions. See you 2 times this week!!! :>

Happy Friday! 4-17

Few things are due today= Biography, Spelling, WOW journal and some Science. Please check Google Classroom for the assignments. Please send the Biography in Google Docs to my email if you haven’t already done so. Spelling activities and WOW if done on paper can be sent via email too. Take a picture and send it to me. If these were done on Google Docs, send it via email. Some of the assignments in Google Classroom can be “turned in” there. Have a good day!

Google Classroom update

I fixed the Readworks issue with passwords. I linked Readworks through Google Classroom so students should be able to go directly to the article and read and answer the questions. Thanks for letting me know the issue and I thank you for your patience during this new way of teaching my class.

Good Thursday Morning! 4/16/20 Google Classroom, Moby Max and Raz

To organize assignments in Google Classroom, I created a new class called Ms. Truxall’s Science Class. I’ll be posting Science assignments here. You’ll have to join this class. The code is krmecmt.

Moby Max- Today begins the new contest. I have included almost all of the subjects. I didn’t add alphabet letters or those that are for early learners. You are all beyond those skills. The contest runs through June 5. Good Luck!

Raz kids- When you visit Raz kids, I assigned you all a new book to read and quiz to take.

Remember to do Zearn and math homework book 1 lesson per day.

Wow Journal- write a journal entry 1 per day.

Please email me any questions you have. All of this is new and very challenging for everyone. Stay well and healthy. Miss you all.
