Math- Please do lesson 6 homework.

20 minutes of reading. Please fill out Reading Log and Book-it Calendar.

I am sending home a new calendar of ideas for October and November’s Home Journal.

Raz Kids-   Students have an account for my class.  My username is ctruxall.  The students have their own password. It is a symbol they have to click on.

Moby Max- Please have your child practice Fact Fluency at home.  We do this at school too but it will increase their speed and automaticity of addition and subtraction to 20 if they practice at home.  Once they pass with 100%accuracy, I will open up multiplication and division.  To use Moby Max, go to the Dearborn schools website, click on Resources in upper right corner, scroll down and click on  clever, log in with student number(they know this number) @dearbornschools.org.  Then choose Moby Max and then Fact Fluency.  There are other activities to do in Moby Max.  They can choose those too.  Have Fun!

Book It

Dear Parents,

Starting today, we will begin an exciting reading challenge called Book-It!  I have provided a blank October calendar for you and your child to keep track of each day that your child reads or is read to.  I am asking that students read for 20 minutes per day. Since all students are already doing this, all I ask is that you fill out the calendar in addition to the log.  So please put a check mark or an X on the calendar of the days you read or were read to and parents please sign at the bottom and return to class at the end of each month.  We will post our Book-It Reader Roster and keep track of all those that participate.  At the end of a completed month, your child will receive a Pizza Hut coupon for a free personal pan pizza!  Happy Reading!

Field Trip!

Dear Parents,

On Wednesday, October 24, 2018, our class will be attending a field trip to the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum.  We will be leaving at 9:00am and returning to school around 2:30pm. We will be in need of chaperones that can drive a group of children to the museum and be willing to pay for parking in a nearby parking structure.  If you want to drive only your own child, please check that space below.  The parking structure is 2 short blocks away.  Parking costs $1.20 an hour.  Chaperones are free at the museum.  Children’s admission will cost $14.

Please send a lunch for your child.  All chaperones will need to bring a lunch as well since there are no places to buy lunch in the museum.  We will eat in a room provided by the museum.

We will have time to explore the museum and also have a program called Slime Time.  We will be working with solids and liquids during the program.

There is a gift shop at the museum and we will designate some time to shop.  Please send shopping money for your child (if you choose) but send no more than $15. Chaperones will NOT be purchasing items for children who do not bring money.

Please fill out and sign below.  Return the bottom portion of this letter along with your payment by Friday, October 19, 2018.
