Celebrities of the Day!

Today students completed the last day of in class work on the 6+1 traits of writing on line assignment. Anyone who did not complete the assignment must complete and turn in the 3 sheets by Thursday of this week. Computer assess is needed for this assignment.

Many students have asked me to change the reading log format, so I have agreed to a trial reading log week. This week, students must still read and document the title, author, time, pages read and get a parent signature. However, there is NO WRITTEN RESPONSE DUE. On Monday, those students who have the required LOG SHEET WILL RECIEVE AN IN CLASS WRITING ASSIGNMENT ABOUT THEIR READING WHICH WILL BE COMPLETED IN CLASS.  Most of the kids were very excited about this new reading log format. Please continue to have kids read at least 20 minutes a night, at least five days per week!

Tomorrow we will begin The Call of the Wild, which is being supported by Dearborn Public Schools and THE BIG READ. There are many activities that can be done in our local libraries with this novel. Please look for opportunities to visit our libraries!
