Celebrities of the Day!!!

Today the students had to take a district wide assessment. The assessment had the students take a “Close and Critical” look at a piece of informational text. They were to apply the R.A.T.E. method to this text then develop a constructed response on “What the text says?’, “How the text says it?” , “What it means?”, and “What does it mean to me?”

For each question they were given a graphic organizer that separated each prompt into boxes where they could organize their thoughts before beginning their constructed response.

Tomorrow they will apply the same concepts and strategies to a narrative text.

Homework:

Read for 20 minutes. Fill out and sign reading logs.
