Celebrities of the Day!!!

Today the students worked on the different parts of an introduction for their argumentative essay. We went through a group activity that designated each table to write a Lead, Background information, and then a Thesis. Students were assigned to each section and then as a group put each part together in that order (Lead, Background, Thesis). They posted it up in the classroom and then read their complete introductions to the rest of the class.

Many students found this activity helpful. They felt more confident in writing their own introduction paragraphs.

Homework:

Students are to complete their Introduction paragraph for their argumentative essay.

This introduction should be written skipping lines on loose leaf paper.
