The DHS Theatre program begins its’ 26th consecutive year under the direction of Mr. Viscomi and looks forward to an exciting 2019-2020 Theatre Season. On the performance slate this year, the thespians will open the theatre season with the musical You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown in November. That will be followed by the 26th Annual Student Directed Scenes in late January of 2020. They’ll conclude the season with their annual spring musical production, this year, Mamma Mia! which will be performed in late March, 2020. The DHS Thespians will once again attend the annual State Thespian Festival held this year in Detroit in December will also participate in various local theatrical events and performances including the Dearborn Area Theatre Association’s DATA Cabaret Night, and the 2020 DATA Awards Celebration, and charitable fundraising activities throughout the local community during the school year.
As mentioned above, Mr. Viscomi marks his 26th year as the Director of Theatre and Auditorium Manager for Dearborn High School as well as the faculty sponsor of International Thespian Society Troupe 586, which was chartered here at DHS in 1944. He is the longest serving Director of Theatre in the history of Dearborn High School, the 3rd longest serving Theatre Director in the history of the Dearborn Public Schools and the “Dean” of all high school theatre educators and directors in the Dearborn and Dearborn Heights area.
