Welcome!!

Welcome!!

K/1 is an exciting time full of growth, discovery and learning. I feel privileged to be sharing this experience with you and your child. I look forward to a fun and successful year together.

Home Folders
Each child has a home folder to use for notes coming between home and school. Please check this folder every day for important information from school. The home folder needs to be emptied and returned to school daily. I will check the folders each morning for notes and lunch money. Please, do not count on me receiving your phone messages and emails during the school day. I am very busy with your children while they are here with me. Notes inside student home folders will always get my immediate attention!

Lunch
Students will be having lunch at school every day. A lunch menu will be provided each month.  If your child brings a lunch, please be sure to label your child’s lunch box with his or her name.

Snack
Snack time will be part of our daily schedule. Nowlin School promotes a healthy snack policy throughout our building so please be sure to pack a healthy snack for your child each day. Juice is not part of our snack time, but each child may bring in a small, spill proof water bottle to keep with them throughout the day.

Arrival and Dismissal
Our K/1 class will be picked up and dismissed from the outside doors located by the playground area leading up to our classroom.  This area will be where the students line up each morning and will be dismissed from each afternoon. Remember our school day is from 8:40 until 3:35. If your child arrives late or needs to be picked up early, please report to the main office. Arrival and dismissal are very busy times. My goal is to make sure all children are accounted for. If you would like to talk with me, please email me or send a note in your child’s folder and I will gladly respond back at my earliest convenience.

Email
My email is golece@dearbornschools.org . The main office can be contacted at 313-827-6900.

Extra Clothes
Please make sure your child has an extra pair of clothing in his or her backpack. This will prevent us from having to call you should there be a bathroom accident or spill during lunch.

I look forward to spending this school year with your precious children! Your participation and support of our classroom is vital to ensuring a successful school year!!
