3/23/20 Assignments

Happy Monday everyone!

Science Classes: This weeks work has been posted. You will need to submit when work is completed. You have videos to watch, IXL to complete, and Vocabulary Words to do. Any questions just email me.

US Government Classes: This week’s work is up. You are on Khan Academy this week. There is a lot there so take your time. Also I am putting Vocabulary Words up for you to do and submit by the end of the week.

Stay home, stay safe, and stay healthy. The sooner we all do that the sooner we will get to go back to school.

Message about On-Line Learning and Does it Count!

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to update you on the fast-moving situation regarding our online classes. This afternoon, Governor Gretchen Whitmer expressed her “dismay” about the Michigan Department of Education’s statement, releasing her own statement assuring educators and parents that this time could possibly count. The MDE released its original statement because in order for our time to count, the Michigan legislature must change the law; the MDE has no power here. So what does that mean for us? *It is very possible—even likely—that our time online will count. So keep working.* Our state lawmakers do not want to anger parents and educators across the state. So let’s keep our momentum going.

Announcement!!

It is the expectation of your administration and teachers that you participate in online learning.  The work being assigned to you is to ensure that you do not fall behind academically. Our goal remains 1200+sri, and proficiency in all subjects.  All  careers require a minimum SRI of 1200 and proficiency in math.  We are not sure when we will return, but we will continue to provide you with learning opportunities.  As a family, it is important for us to continue to grow and thrive academically.  Thank-you

Friday!

Happy Friday everyone! Just a reminder to make sure you are getting all your work done in IXL and Kahn Academy. Please don’t do more than I assign. I want everyone on the same page.

Also here is some fun stuff to do: https://www.travelandleisure.com/attractions/museums-galleries/museums-with-virtual-tours

This is a link to 12 museums from around the world that you can visit online. Pretty cool! Enjoy. As always, stay safe and healthy and I look forward to when we can get back to school and learn together.

Any questions you can email me or send me something through my iBlog. I will also put a link at the top once I get you your personal information.

Stay safe and Healthy! Together we will get this beat and be back in school.

Chromebook Pass Out

This is from the district:

Good afternoon. This  message is for Fordson High School students.  We will be passing out chromebooks for students who need one.  Chromebooks will be passed out Thursday, March 19th from 10:00am to 1:00 pm and Friday, March 20th  from 10:00am to 1:00pm.

Distribution of chrome books will be in the back parking lot, next to the Freshmen Academy.  Parents must come to the school, present their child’s student id and sign a form to receive a chromebook.  Only one chromebook will be given per family. If your family received one from the middle school or elementary, we will not provide another one.

Once a student receives the chromebook, they need to sign on and check their teachers’ blogs for assignments.  Reminder Chrome books will not, I repeat will not be given away without Student ID

We ask that everyone exercises patience during this process. Our goal is to support all our students during this difficult time.

We hope you are safe and let us know if you need anything.  Take care.

Free Meal Pick-Up

Free Meal Pick Up Provided by Dearborn Public Schools:

Starting today (March 17th), Dearborn Public Schools will offer free pickup breakfast and lunch to all of our students at any of the following six school locations: Fordson High School, Dearborn High, Edsel Ford High School, McCollough/Unis Middle School, Salina Intermediate and Woodworth.

The grab-and-go meals will be available from 10 a.m. to noon from now through April 3rd. Hopefully they will extend it over spring break (April 6th through 10th)

This is a great resource and if it can be useful to your family any child age 18 or younger is invited to receive a meal. Be sure to bring your younger siblings along with you so you can all have enough to eat.
