History Through Film 3.30.20

Day 11: Howdy partners and welcome to week three of remote learning! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Thank you to all of you who have stayed on track and continued to learn about our country through watching movies. This week we are heading out West to look at some American cowboy stories. So giddy up, don’t drink downstream from the herd and look below to make your choices for this week’s films.

Movie #1 is my favorite Western and usually one of the most popular movies of the year. Doc Holliday steals the show with his one-liners. The movie is Tombstone.I hope you enjoy it. You can choose to either complete and submit the attached 6 square and written response or write a movie review by Wednesday.

For your second film you will complete a movie review and submit by Friday. You can choose from any of the following movies:

Open Range (Robert Duvall & Kevin Costner on a cattle drive), Unforgiven (one of my favorites, an old Clint Eastwood & Morgan Freeman), The Cowboys (John Wayne & coming of age story), High Noon (considered one of the best movies of all time), The Good, The Bad and The Ugly Ua young Clint Eastwood), 3:10 to Yuma.
