Dear parents and students,
I hope all are doing well. This school year is an exceptional one since we are not starting it as we usually do. I am aware that you all have concerns and plenty of questions about how our class will run virtually and what kind of work you will have to complete to earn credits.
As you know, the district decided on Schoology as the main platform for all your classes and Zoom as the tool for our virtual conferences and live lessons. Both of these platforms are new to all teachers in the district and this is why the district approved a soft start to allow us some time to be trained and figure things out.
Our virtual Geometry course on Schoology is almost complete. I invite you to explore some of its features like the syllabus, the schedule, zoom link etc. but be aware that some of the links are still blocked until next week. Also, try to sign up for my Remind, I know many of students already did.
Our first Zoom meeting will be on Tuesday, September 8 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd hour and Wednesday, September 9 for 4th and 6th hour. We are following the district schedule for the zoom meetings. I will have the zoom link for our meetings attached by then (Make sure you are using your school gmail account).
In the meantime, you need to complete your independent assignments in Schoology that are meant to help you navigate the new platform easily. If you have any questions that you seek immediate answers for, you can email me and I will respond within 24 hours. Enjoy this long weekend. I am looking forward to seeing all of you next week.
