This week we spent lots of time getting to know the routine. Following a schedule provides a sense of security because students will know what to expect. The young adults have done a great job adapting to our new routine of choosing their own lunch from the many options now served in the cafeteria. This week we spent some time outside, did a homemade strawberry, blueberry, and raspberry jam taste test (strawberry was the favorite!) and we began our job of popping and bagging popcorn for the 3rd grade montessori class for their weekly reward.
Thank you for checking your young adults back pack each day. I have received most of the CBI and Photo permission slips. We will begin CBI next week and we need to have permission so your young adult can participate in the weekly outing. I have had a few parents sign up for remind and I encourage you to do so. It works like a text to your phone and I plan on using it throughout the year for reminders and to set up meetings.
Unfortunately, we have had several students out this week due to illness. We have observed many runny noses and coughing. This is a friendly reminder to keep your young adult home if they are not feeling well so the germs do not spread. We have students in our class with weak immune systems and we want everyone to be able to attend school without fear or risk of getting sick.
