Mar 23rd Online Learning March 23-27

Dear Students and Parents,

Happy Monday!  I hope all is well during this time.  As you know, our district has instructed that students receive online work during the school closure.  Each week I will be opening three assignments on our iLearn class web page for 7th Grade World History.

Students will have the week to complete them and then I will grade them and put them in the gradebook.  This weeks assignments are –

1. Chapter 27 Lesson B with notebook worksheet: Complete on iLearn normally.  If you can print up the worksheet please do so and complete it.  If you can not print the worksheet, record your answers for the worksheet on lined paper.  You will be turning in the worksheet when school resumes.
2. CHPT 26 Multiple Choice Activity – Open Book – At home: This is a multiple choice test preparation practice activity.  You may use the chapter text from iLearn and your notes from the chapter. 
3. CHPT 27 Multiple Choice Activity – Open Book – At home: This is a multiple choice test preparation practice activity.  You may use the chapter text from iLearn and your notes from the chapter.

Mar 20th End of Week Announcement

Dear Students and Parents,

Greetings!  I hope everyone had a great week!  I have been seeing a lot of students accessing iLearn assignments!  Excellent! Some students have even been doing missing assignments from Quarter 3 – PERFECT!  That is what I hope everyone takes advantage of.

This weekend work on any missing assignment from this quarter on iLearn.  I will have to post grades by March 31st. So if you do not like the grade you see on Student Connect, complete it on iLearn.  BE SURE TO EMAIL ME WHEN YOU COMPLETE MISSING WORK SO I CAN GO IN AND GRADE IT!!!

Also, If you missed a QUIZ or TEST email me and I can unlock it so you can make that test up at home.  However, I will only do this for a test you have NOT taken. No at home test retakes at this time.

Dear Students and Parents,

Happy Monday! I hope all is well during this time. Our district has instructed that students receive online work during the school closure. Each week I will be opening two assignments on our iLearn class web page for 7th Grade World History.

Students will have the week to complete them and then I will grade them and put them in the gradebook. This weeks assignments are –

Chapter 27 Frayer model: This will be the same Frayer model we complete in school. Do it on white OR lined paper at home. YOU WILL BE TURNING THIS INTO A SUBMISSION BIN ON ILEARN. Once completed take a pic or scan your work and turn in the file into the submission bin on iLearn.

Mar 13th Online Learning During the Closure

Dear Students and Parents,

Hello!  I hope all are well during this time.  Obviously, no one was expecting for school buildings to be closed.  But our district is planning for students to continue to complete remote learning at home via the Internet. 

As my students know, our class uses iLearn and we access assignments in class on our chromebooks daily.  I will continue to open and grade assignments on ilearn during the next three weeks. I will send more information about this on Monday – next week we will have a few lessons for students to complete in World History.

Sep 11th Welcome to iBlog

Hello, Woodworth family!  My name is James Murphy, and I am your student’s new 7th grade World History teacher. I am extremely pleased to be into my 3rd year with the Dearborn School District.  A little bit about me: I am a husband and father and bring 15 years teaching experience to my classroom.  I earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Madonna University and a Master’s Degree from the University of Detroit Mercy.    

In my classroom, students will work on vocabulary, writing, and reading skills. Each student is expected to come prepared to learn with all his or her supplies needed for each task.  You can help your student by helping them find a quiet place at home to read and timing them during this reading time. Each week will always end with some type of summative assessment.

Students will need to bring in the following supplies: a 2” or 3” 3 ring binder designated for English class (this will come to and from home/school); pencils and/or pens; and lined paper. If there is a financial issue please feel free to contact me to make other arrangements.

Students and parents can access our class website on the Dearborn iLean Website: https://moodle.dearbornschools.org/login/index.php

Log in with your student’s student ID and password.  Homework, Lessons, Class Agendas, and Tests can be found on iLearn.  It is updated daily and grades are put in the the Gradebook system weekly.
