Study guides were given out today for fridays quiz on the tools of geography. Please study! Also, don’t forget to work on your projects. Due September 30, I will not accept any after that date.

Today we continued working on the tools of geography. Students completed a venn diagram making comparisons of a map and globe as well as similarities of the two. Students took very good class notes on key terms. We will have a quiz on friday to cover this material. A study guide will be given on Wednesday. Please remember to work on your five themes project that is due on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Today we took our quiz and I passed out the 5 themes of geography book project.

It is due Monday, September 30, 2014.  If you work on one theme per day it will be easier to finish. Don’t wait until the last day. Remember, this is a summative grade, please put in your best effort.

Today we went to the library and students began their research on a chosen country from the eastern hemisphere. The directions for the project will be sent home tomorrow.

Don’t forget to study! The quiz is tomorrow.

Today we did a rainbow write activity where students were grouped according to numbers 1 to 5. On chart paper students were to write, give examples, and illustrate what they knew about each theme. Their exit activity was to choose a theme, write the 6 most important words about the theme, and then write a summary using those 6 most important words.

A study guide was given today on the 5 themes. Quiz will be this Friday. See me tomorrow if you were absent today.

Tomorrow is Constitution Day, please bring colored pencils or markers to class.

Today we did a MEAP review for bell work. We did Section 2 assessment on page 18 in your world explorer book after reading pgs 15-17.  If you were absent you need to do the recall and and comprehension questions on page 18. Make sure you define the key terms and answer the questions in complete sentences.

My 3rd hour had an assembly today and will do this tomorrow.

Today we started our 5 themes of geography flip books in class. They will need to finish the flip book for homework and turn it in on Monday.

Today students identified elements of a map for bell work. We answered comprehension questions for section 1-2 on themes of geography. If they did not finish in class it was assigned for homework. Tomorrow we will be making a flip book to help us study the 5 themes. Please bring colored pencils or markers to class.

Today we finished the world activity atlas assignment and went over it in class. Students were given exit slips at the end of class to hold them accountable on the learning targets for the lesson. They did very well.  For those who were absent please turn in the atlas assignment tomorrow.

Don’t forget that tomorrow is a late start. Open House is at 6pm.

Today we did an atlas activity on the 7 continents with a partner. We also identified the 5 themes of geography. If you were absent today we will continue the packet tomorrow in class.
