Students will
Develop and use a model based on evidence to illustrate the relationships between components of a system and different scales (human body systems, population of bacteria, and individual bacteria) using scientific principles we have figured out so far to explain why antibiotics stopped working for Addie.
WHAT WE FIGURE OUT – Ideas on why antibiotics did not kill all of the bacteria Addie had after she was placed on the ECMO machine, the need to know more about resistant bacteria, the need for the next investigation in order to understand the interactions between bacteria and antibiotics.
