March 30th

I hope that this finds everyone doing well. Most of our class is participating in the Optional Remote Learning each week. Please keep encouraging your child to complete their assignments to help prevent decline. Next week is Spring Break so there won’t be any assignments then.

Tomorrow, I am attempting to do a Google Hangout with the students at 1:00. The students can use the following link to join. I am new to this platform so I am hoping that it will go well but will troubleshoot if needed. I will also post this link on the students’ classwork page. https://meet.google.com/yxz-gcsn-kjx

I hope that everyone is healthy and having a chance to bond as a family. I am doing well and am hoping to return to the classroom soon, as I miss all of the students. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Zearn Update

Zearn Work: All students should be working on zearn at least 1/2 hour per day and should be through lesson 19 by this week’s end. Next week zearn will be their only math work and they need to get through lesson 24. If your child’s name is not here, please have them go to zearn and show you the numbered lesson they are on.

MANY students are far behind where they should be and it looks like they’ve made no progress since last week? Here is who IS caught up: Elena, Younes, Affrica, Giosue, Joey, Fatima, Roger, Surene, Stephen, Sophia, John, J.R., and Brennan.
Thanks for you help!

I have put it on Google Classroom – Daily 5 for the students to access, which is what they they are familiar with. I just thought that you may want to look it over too. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_WiLu6F9Y13ZKBiYBzMy5H0xCOu0d_zLVUPOKBbosx4/edit?usp=sharing

Math Update

Ms. Courtright sent the following message:

Hello everyone, here is a short notice to let you know if your child completed the math work assigned so far this week.  On Edulastic there was a quiz over lessons completed before the break.  Husam, Joey, Surene, Stephen and John are all set.  If your child’s name is not above, that means he/she either has to redo it due to a very low score or has not completed it thus far.

For ZEARN the following students completed at least 3 lessons:  Younes, Affrica, Joey, Fatima, Surene, Sophia, John, Brennan, Nour, Alonzo and Khadijah.  All students should have completed through lesson 20 but most are not there yet.  Thanks to everyone for encouraging your child to stay on top of things during this time.
