I hope that everyone had a wonderful vacation from school and was able to recharge and spend some time together as a family. Below are a few things to note.
Math– Mid Module Assessment is tomorrow and Wednesday. I broke it into 2 parts because it was quite long. Students have part 1 review today and part 2 tomorrow. Pls. take a look at what your child is working on.
Social Studies:
We have completed our unit on colonization. The Unit 3 Assessment, Colonization and Settlement, will be Friday, February 28th. Today, we finished the review. Your child should be using it and their notebook to help them prepare. The assessment will be 24 multiple-choice questions and 1 essay.
Essay: Explain how life in the colonies would have been different if the colonists had not written the Mayflower Compact? Provide at least two examples.
The students will also be doing a colonial project this week. I anticipate that the students will be able to complete the project in class but if not, they will need to complete it over the weekend. The project will be an advertisement to advertise a colony. The end product will be a Tri-fold Pamphlet, Radio Ad or TV Commercial. The assignment and rubric is posted on Google Classroom SS.
Popcorn: We are in charge of popping popcorn on Friday, February 24th. Please let me know if you are able to pop and bag popcorn asap.
