Good afternoon.
The 1st semester has ended today. Each student should have received his/her 2nd semester schedule. The grades will be put into the computer today. As always, students who are making up work can turn it in on Monday.
Next week, we will focus on finishing our novel and work on an argumentative writing review as we will have a district-mandated cold-read and cold-write for argumentative writing.
Then, we will focus on reading informational text and historical writing.
Starting the 2nd semester, we will switch to an article of the week in place of the reading response journals. Each student will be given one article of the week. Each student will annotate/talk-to-the-text and answer comprehension questions. The article of the week should be highly engaging and more rigorous.
