The week of February 6 – 10, 2017

Hello everyone,

This week, we are working in small groups on reading and annotating an argumentative article.  Each person in each small group writes the draft of the argumentative essay.  Each person must type the draft using google docs and share the document with me.  Each group must re-write the essay on chart paper or create a google slides presentation.

Next week, on Monday (Feb. 13), each of my students will receive an article to read and annotate.  Then, on Tuesday (Feb. 14), each of my students will receive a writing prompt and will have approximately 40 minutes to create the argumentative draft.  This is the district’s post-writing assessment.  In theory, every student will have a higher score for each of the writing traits than he/she did in September.

It is important for each student to study his/her cornell notes from the argumentative planning rubric from the 1st card marking.
