Dear First Grade Families,                                                       2-10-14

On Friday, February 14, 2014, we will be having our classroom Valentine’s Day party.  Students can bring a valentine card for each student in the class, if you wish to participate.  We have a total of 19 students.  There are 12 girls and 7 boys in our class.  Students can bring a game to play for the party.

Unit 4 Math test will be sent home today.  Please sign and return the test.  Unit 5 Math lessons will include comparing numbers using <, > and = symbols; counting coins; reading a thermometer; telling time; addition and subtraction.

We will have a Spelling test this week.  Please sign and return the booklet.

Social Studies lessons continue to focus on the study of economics.  Students are learning to identify needs, wants, goods services, producers and consumers.

Earth Science lessons focus on the study of Earth, sun, moon, stars and planets.

Reminders:  Late Start Wednesday, February 12, 2014; Mid-Winter vacation, February 15 – 23;  Read for homework 15 minutes or more; On Friday we will have our Spelling test, gym and return library books.
